Cast List: Evil Dead & Experience UGA

Cast Announcement Note

Thank you to everyone who auditioned for sharing your creativity, bold choices, and fearless energy. Deciding among so many “groovy” performances was no small task. The cast list ultimately reflects a dynamic mix of voices, skills, and energies that we believe will forge the fearless ensemble we need to collaborate on this wild, bloody, and demanding musical story together.

Our first week of rehearsals begins soon after Labor Day. Please review the following:

• Schedule:
  • Rehearsals will begin Wednesday, September 17, from 6:30 to 10:30 in room 201.
  • Rehearsals will be Monday through Friday evening from 6:30 pm-10:30 pm and Sundays from 5 pm to 10 pm.
  • Fall Break: No Rehearsal on Friday, October 31. There will be a regular rehearsal on Sunday, November 2.
  • You cannot have any conflicts from Crew Watch on Nov 4th through the run of performances.
  • Performances are November 13-14, 18-21 at 8 pm and November 16 & 23 at 2 pm.
• Conflicts: Double-check your listed conflicts and, when possible, try to make alternative arrangements so you can participate fully in the rehearsal process.
• Off-Book: All cast members are expected to be off-book by the start of our second week of rehearsals (Sunday, September 21).
• Scripts: Scripts may be picked up from Clay's office, room 204, starting on Tuesday, September 2nd.
• Rehearsal Clothes: Actors are required to wear suitable rehearsal attire that allows for unrestricted movement and ensures safety during rehearsals. To ensure safety during scenes involving staged violence, it is essential to wear closed-toe shoes and secure or remove any potentially hazardous jewelry. Eyeglasses should be firmly secured, and it is advisable to wear long sleeves and pants that cover as much skin as possible. Once actors know their specific costumes, they are encouraged to wear clothing and shoes that closely resemble the intent of their character's attire.
• One-on-One Meetings: Each cast member is invited to set up a one-on-one with me before rehearsals begin at cal.com/marotta. We’ll talk about your role(s), the production, and some approaches to the rehearsal process.

Thank you to everyone for sharing your energy and imaginations with us in auditions! We cannot wait for you to join us in serving the students of Athens-Clarke County!

Schedule

Our rehearsals begin on Tuesday, September 2nd, from 6:00 to 9:00 pm in room 201. 

Rehearsal will be from Monday's through Thursday's from 6:00 to 9:00 pm. We will have an occasional Saturday or Sunday as we move closer to tech & performances. Those cast in Puss in Boots, you will have rehearsals in November to prep for the Family Day performance on November 8th.

You cannot have any conflicts during tech and the performances (October 14th to October 16th/November 8th).

Scripts and schedules will be handed out on the first rehearsal on Tuesday, September 2nd.
