MFA Performance
Storyteller

Sofía Ruiz is an actor, mover, director, writer, producer, and podcaster — which is why she prefers to call herself a storyteller. After getting her Bachelor’s Degree in Theatre & Dance from The University of Texas at Austin, she lived and worked in Los Angeles, then moved to Mexico City where she worked as a film and stage actor for ten years. When she isn't acting, Sofía is writing scripts and producing them with her production company, Flowerhouse Films. An avid podcast listener, she started the first Spanish-speaking podcast about the acting career in Latin America: Sobre Actuando, the actor's podcast. She now lives in Athens, Georgia where she is pursuing her MFA in Performance at UGA. Her hobbies are cooking, yoga, and watching amazing movies and shows (she hopes to make scuba diving a hobby someday too).
